Roles and Responsibilities – Electrical Trainer and Assessor
- The Electrical Trainer and Assessor is responsible for:
- Involvement in activities within Electrical Safety UK Limited requiring the development and delivery of training courses and undertaking assessment. This involves face-to-face meetings with clients and providing advice and consultancy services.
- Provide Support and information to the training and consultancy teams.
- Participate in quality assurance and standardisation with regard to training and assessment and meeting the needs of Awarding Bodies.
- The day-to-day health and safety of themselves including the completion, implementation and dissemination of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Duty Statements
1.1 Electrical Training Duties
- Deliver existing training packages at ESUK head office in Rotherham and on client’s sites across the UK.
- Liaise with clients to determine training needs and contents of training packages.
- Develop bespoke training packages in line with the client’s specifications and requirements.
- Develop training materials to support training packages.
- Deliver bespoke training on client’s sites.
- Deliver training both face-to-face and remotely via MS Teams
- Undertake assessments and mark assessment paperwork
- Undertake internal verification of another assessor’s work
- Attend and participate in standardisation meetings.
1.2 General Office Duties
- Ensure training documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
- Liaise with Admin Support to undertake quality checks on all outgoing documentation in accordance with the Proof Reading and Formatting Guidelines, ensuring that Quality Management Procedures are adhered to.
- Responsibility for own administration including keeping Customer Relationship Management up to date, time recording, and correspondence with clients.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum
The ideal candidate will hold as a minimum:
- Suitable electrical trade qualifications such as 236 C Certificate or HNC in Electrical Engineering, as well as City & Guilds 2382, 2377 and 2391
- Electrical Experience Background
- Relevant training experience delivering City & Guilds 2382, 2377 and 2391
Preferred
The following skills would put the ideal candidate at a distinct advantage:
- Industrial/commercial electrical experience
- Approved trainer for Safety Pass Alliance Core, Petrol Forecourt, Mineral Products, Food and Drink
- An appropriate training qualification such as CertEd, PGCE, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS
- An appropriate assessor qualification such as A1, D1, TAQA
- Familiarity with arc flash and arc blast
- Possess NEBOSH Level 3 NGC or higher
- Undertaking competency assessments (existing format in place at ESUK)
- A working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls
